On August 31st, the South Carolina Gamecocks and the North Carolina Tar Heels will face off in a neutral site game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.
This game is a crucial win for both teams, and there are many developing storylines for both of these teams heading into the season. Mack Brown is back at North Carolina, and is bringing a lot of hype to the Tar Heels after going 2-9 last season. The Gamecocks return most starters including Senior QB Jake Bentley who is looking to make his signature mark as a Gamecock.
Its no question that South Carolina has the hardest schedule in the country. Both SEC and non-conference schedule is brutal. the game against UNC could decide if the gamecocks can reach a bowl game.
Both teams are going to be feeling hype and ready to go. I think both teams will come out really fast and a lot of points will be scored in the first half. I think the score going into the half will be 21-10, South Carolina leading. SC has one thing UNC doesn’t have, depth. The 2nd half will be very slow. North Carolina’s offense will weaken and the Gamecocks defense will take control. Gamecocks win, 28-13.
After facing UNC, the Gamecocks will face off Charleston Southern at home in a preparation game for when Alabama comes into Columbia the following week.
