Jaxson Hayes, 6-11 big man, was a 4 Star recruit coming out of high school and well, he played like it his freshman year at Texas. Hayes averaged 10 PPG, 5 RPG, 0.3 APG and 2.2 BPG while shooting 73% from the field. He’s one of the better prospects in this draft, and I expect him to go in the Top 10 Thursday night.
Strengths: tremendous size and length… 7-4 wingspan… big hands… good athleticism… great shot blocker and rim protector… good offensive rebounder… good free throw shooter (74%)…
Weaknesses: needs to add muscle… foul prone… terrible passer (9 assists all of last season)…
Overall, Hayes is still developing as a player, and will for the next few years. I can see him as a Rudy Gobert type of player; elite defender and chips in a few points on offense. Hayes should have a nice career and make a few All-NBA defense team.
