After being a role-player his freshman season at Texas Tech, Jarrett Culver turned into an elite, all-around prospect in this draft. Experts have him in the Top 10, but I personally believe he is a Top 5 pick Thursday. Culver averaged 18.5 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 3.7 APG and 1.5 SPG on 46% shooting from the field and 30% from 3. Culver helped lead Tech all the way to the title game, where they would lose to Virginia in OT. Jarrett also earned Big 12 Player of the Year and was 2nd Team Consensus All-American.

Strengths: good all-around player… solid athleticism and strength… fundamentally sound player… great footwork and hesitation… high basketball IQ… plays great defense… quick hands… above average rebounder…

Weaknesses: not so good 3 point shot… ball handling… needs to work on body frame… doesn’t have elite run and jump ability…

Overall, I think Culver will go between picks 5-10 but I could see him going as high as 3rd or 4th overall Thursday. Culver just needs to hit the gym and develop a better shot and gain some muscle and weight. I think Culver can have a nice NBA career, but I’m not sure if I see him as a future All-Star or Hall of Famer. I hope I’m wrong though.
