The Cardinals have a new head coach, Kliff Kingsbury. That question has now been answered. However, one big one still remains. Will Larry Fitzgerald return to the desert in 2019? The veteran told SiriusXM that he plans on taking some time to before deciding what he does next.
“I have to do my due diligence in terms of just taking some time to let your body heal because when you’re sore and your fingers are broken to say ‘man I just don’t want to do this anymore.’ You have to give yourself some time to decompress and take a step back,” Fitzgerald shared with the Arizona Republic.
Fitzgerald would be entering his 16th NFL season should he choose to stay. However, he is a free agent this season, but he doesn’t want to play for anyone except the Cardinals. With young talent such as quarterback, Josh Rosen, running back, David Johnson, and wide receiver, Christian Kirk, there’s plenty to be excited about for the Cardinals, but having their leader would be the icing on the cake.
Fitzgerald plans on talking to Mr. Bidwill and they’ll “figure out what’s going to happen from there”.
The NFL world will just have to wait and see what Larry Fitzgerald chooses to do. His career is his own, and he’s made that quite clear.
